How to use Procreate in your painting process

Are you sometimes blocked in your painting process, and you don’t know you're your next step? Do you feel that the colour you used in the background is not the right colour? Should it be darker, lighter or completely different?

When I am stuck in my painting process and am not sure how to continue, I often play with the App ProCreate on my iPad and it really helps me so I thought it would be a good idea to share my process, it might help you too! You can try out different colour backgrounds, emphasise light and dark areas, adding some patterns, all without ruining your painting.

When you ‘paint’ in ProCreate, you can try out colours, composition etc. without getting your hands dirty! You have to pay for the App to download ($9.99 one time, no subscription fee), but I think it is well worth it!

I have made a YouTube Tutorial for you in which I explain step by step how I upload my painting and how I work on it to gather ideas. I hope it helps you in your painting process! I mostly use the brush ‘Evolve’ but you can of course try out all the different brushes.

Let me know if you have any questions and check out my YouTube Channel for more tutorials, and don’t forget to Subscribe for more!

PS. If you are frustrated with colour mixing and your colour mixes turn into mud and you don’t know why, join me Colour Bootcamp! In the short Bootcamp you will learn all out the colour theory, single pigmented paints, colour values and more. This will help you to take a big step in your painting process. At the end of the Bootcamp you will be mixing colours like a colour Pro!
